Bullers of Buchan
is a collapsed sea cave forming
an almost circular chasm above
cliffs which are home to many
seabird species including
puffins, and — a little further
afield — is
Pennan, the picturesque
former fishing village made
famous by the 1983 movie Local
Hero, and
Macduff Marine Aquarium
where the focus is on local
marine life with a central open
tank where divers hand-feed
fish.
Kinnaird Lighthouse
in Fraserburgh is a former
castle, converted to a
lighthouse in 1787 and now a
visitor attraction with adjacent
museum. Peterhead boasts the
oldest salmon house
in Scotland, dating back to
1585, where you can witness the
ancient art of smoking salmon
