EXPLORING INLAND

Head for Aden Country Park, near Mintlaw, which includes the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, a restaurant, and a craft shop, or explore the hands-on exhibits at Archeolink Pre-history Park, near Oyne, or try the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford for an insight into north-east Scotland’s transport heritage. Nearby is the Alford Valley Narrow Gauge Railway and Heritage Centre.

On Royal Deeside, visit the Old Royal Railway Station in Ballater and Crathie Kirk where the Royal Family worships while at Balmoral.
